Amaro Montenegro (70cl)

Amaro Montenegro is an Italian amaro still made to its original recipe, which uses forty botanicals: herbs, spices, roots, dried fruit, flowers, seeds and barks. Stanislao Cobianchi created it in 1885 and named it after Elena Petrovich, then Princess of Montenegro. It is a bright, intense amber with copper glints. The nose is herbal and spicy, with marjoram, oregano and mugwort alongside nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves. The palate balances sweetness and bitterness, and the finish is long with a minty aftertaste. It is made for after dinner as a digestivo.
