Amrut – Everest Edition Limited Release (2015) (70cl, 58.7%)

This is a single cask release from Amrut, bottled in 2015 at 58.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was a charity bottling, with the proceeds donated to the Help Nepal Network to support aid work after the earthquake that struck Nepal in April 2015. Amrut is made in Bangalore, using Indian barley grown near the Himalayas, and the warm climate there speeds up maturation. The nose brings dried mango, crushed cardamom, barley sugar and ripe banana. The palate is thick and lush, with soft papaya, citrus, sweet spice, cinnamon and cloves. The finish is long and juicy, with soft, buttery baked fruit.
