A five-year-old Annandale single malt bottled by The Caskhound. It was distilled on 19 October 2017 and matured fully in a first-fill Heaven Hill bourbon barrel, number 1257, yielding 260 bottles at 58.6% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose offers malty sweetness and biscuit dough, pear, herbs, warm stewed apple with cinnamon and dried cloves. On the palate come vanilla sweetness and spice, then pear purée and caramel, followed by peppery notes and creamy chocolate.
The finish is medium in length and lightly dry, with plenty of spice and a hint of dark chocolate.
