Antique Lions of Spirits Blair Athol 28 Year Old

This is a 28 year old Blair Athol bottled by Antique Lions of Spirits as a single cask release. The whisky was distilled in 1988 and bottled in 2016. Antique Lions of Spirits is a collaboration between Max Righi of Silver Seal Whisky Company, Diego Sandrin of Lions Whisky and Jens Drewitz of Sansibar. Its first series pays tribute to the Birds bottlings that the Italian bottler Moon Import released in 1988. The nose opens with pineapple and an oily texture. On the palate are liquorice, cedar cigar box, dried fruit and floral notes with a subtle bitterness, and the finish is of fresh liquorice root.
