Appenzeller Alpenbitter (70cl)

An alpine amaro with a clear but well-balanced character. The nose brings herbaceous and resinous notes, citrus peel and a balsamic touch recalling thyme and rosemary, with spice adding depth. On the palate it moves from initial softness to well-integrated bitterness, with warmth at the centre and a savoury thread that keeps the sip flowing. The finish is clean, with returning herbs and root. It works as a digestif served neat or with a cube of ice, and also in mixed drinks where bitter, aromatic notes are wanted. It pairs well with dark chocolate, aged cheeses or game dishes. A 70cl bottle; store in a cool place away from light.
