A 10-year-old Islay single malt from Ardbeg, non-chill filtered and bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is matured in ex-bourbon barrels.
The malted barley is peated to around 55 parts per million, and the spirit still carries a purifier, a copper device that returns heavier vapours for further distillation.
Peat smoke leads the nose, with lemon and lime zest, dark chocolate and a thread of smoked fish. The palate offers menthol, black pepper and sweet smoke, followed by tar, green apple and grapefruit. The finish is long, with salt, vanilla cream and steady smoke.
