This is a 19 year old single malt from Ardbeg, the Islay distillery founded in 1815 by John MacDougall. It is bottled at 51.7% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured for 19 years in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry cask, which gave it a deep amber colour. Peat is present but delicate.
The nose is very powerful, with smoky, peaty, vanilla and lemon notes. On the palate come flowers, cocoa, liquorice and iodine, with pepper in the finish.
