This Ardbeg was distilled on Islay in 2000 and matured for 25 years in a single Oloroso sherry butt, then bottled as Artist #15, Something in the Water. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 55.4%.
It is a single cask bottled at cask strength, non-chill filtered and of natural colour. Around 224 bottles were filled in this limited edition.
The nose is heavily peated, with smoke, soot, seaweed and iodine beside candied orange, mango and toffee. On the palate come cold ash, cocoa, coffee and citrus zest. The finish is very long, salty and peppery, with orange peel, embers and a delicate sherry rancio.
