Ardbeg Auriverdes is a limited edition Islay single malt launched on Ardbeg Day 2014, celebrated at the Fèis Ìle festival and around the world. The name refers to the golden whisky and the green Ardbeg bottle, echoing the way Brazil's sports teams are known. The casks were made with a distinctive toasting process.
The nose has smoked bacon, tarry rope, vanilla, pomegranate, sherbet lemon and lemon zest, with a hint of mocha. The palate is sweet and restrained at first, with bacon cured in muscovado sugar, then peat with medicinal phenols. The finish is long, with cocoa and ashy charred notes.
