Ardbeg Blaaack is a limited edition Islay single malt released for Ardbeg Day, launched in late May 2020 as the Ardbeg Committee marked its 20th anniversary.
It was finished in French and American casks that previously held New Zealand Pinot Noir, and this version is bottled at 46%. A separate 51.6% version was reserved for members of the Ardbeg Committee.
It is described as heavily smoky, with cedar and cigar box, a slight tannic bite and a velvety palate of cherry, strawberry, apricot, dark chocolate, coffee and bitter almonds.
