Ardbeg – Corryvreckan

Ardbeg Corryvreckan is a heavily peated single malt from Islay. It takes its name from the whirlpool between the islands of Jura and Scarba, said to be the third largest in the world. The name comes from Coirebhreacain, which means cauldron of the speckled seas. According to legend, a young Viking called Breacan had to survive three days and three nights in the whirlpool to prove his love for the daughter of the Lord of the Isles. Its profile is described as smoky, briny and malty.
