This is a 14 year old single malt from Ardbeg, drawn from a single Marsala cask, number 506, and bottled at 55.3% ABV. The spirit was distilled on 2 March 2011 and laid down in select Marsala casks sourced from Sicily.
The casks were chosen to bring the deeply sweet flavours of fortified wine to Ardbeg's usual smoky, balanced style. Many of the first-fill casks from this exploration went on to Ardbeg Dolce, the Ardbeg Day 2026 release, while Cask 506 has its own character. It is described as perfumed, spicy and savoury.
