Ardbeg Drum is an Islay single malt bottled in 2019 at 52% in a 70cl bottle. It was released first to Ardbeg Committee members as part of the Ardbeg Day celebrations.
The whisky was matured in ex-bourbon casks and then rested in ex-rum casks from the Americas, which add a Caribbean note to the Islay style. The nose has ripe pineapple, overripe banana, tart blackberries, clove and allspice over toasted oak. The palate is smoky peat with tropical mango, honeyed ginger and a briny edge. The finish is medium to long, with charred wood and caramelised oranges.
