Ardbeg Smokiverse is the 2025 Ardbeg Day release, which also marks the 25th anniversary of the Ardbeg Committee. It is a single malt from Ardbeg Distillery on Islay, made from 100% malted barley and matured in ex-bourbon barrels.
It is the first Ardbeg made with high gravity mashing, which uses less water and more grain in the mash tun to give a denser, more sugar-rich wort. The whisky is non-chill filtered and bottled at 48.3% ABV.
The nose brings tropical fruit, ripening barley, sourdough and sweet peat smoke. The palate is rich and creamy, with muscovado sugar, pineapple, anise, clove and charcoal smoke. The finish is long, with peat moss, bonfire embers and lingering sweetness.
