Ardbeg Supernova Committee Release is a limited edition Islay single malt from 2019, bottled at 54.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was released to mark the end of Ardbeg's experiment in space, in which tubes of Ardbeg-crafted molecules and sticks of charred oak were sent up to compare their interactions with control samples on Earth.
It is the final Committee release of the Supernova single malt and is peated to 100PPM, against Ardbeg's usual 55PPM. At the time of its release it was one of the most heavily peated whiskies in the world.
