Ardbeg Traigh Bhan 19 Year Old Batch 4 is an Islay single malt, the 2022 release, matured in American oak and ex-oloroso sherry casks. It is named after Traigh Bhan, the beach on the Islay coast known locally as the Singing Sands.
The nose opens with herbal pine and fennel, then lime sorbet, medicinal lozenge, eucalyptus and saddle soap, before hazelnut, vanilla and currants arrive with a hint of minted chocolate. The palate combines wood smoke and dark chocolate with lemon curd, peanut brittle, raisin fudge, menthol, aniseed, clove and white pepper. The finish is sharp, intense and long.
