This is the fifth batch of Ardbeg Traigh Bhan, an Islay single malt aged 19 years and bottled in 2023 at 46.2% ABV, non-chill filtered. The batch number is TB/05-12.02.2004/23.GM. It matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks.
The name refers to the Singing Sands beach near Port Ellen.
The nose is tropical fruit, mango, guava and coconut, with soft floral notes, herbal incense, menthol pastilles, saddle soap and charred green pepper. The palate has smoked mango and maple bacon, a creamy, lightly effervescent texture, and gentle peat. The finish is long, with soot, wood smoke, clove, salted caramel and resin.
