Ardbeg – Traigh Bhan 19 Years Old Batch 6 (46.2%)

This is the sixth batch of Ardbeg Traigh Bhan, an Islay single malt aged 19 years and bottled in 2024. It is a small batch release, non-chill filtered and bottled at 46.2%. The name comes from the Singing Sands beach near Port Ellen. The whisky matured in a mix of Oloroso sherry casks and American oak ex-bourbon casks. The nose starts with olive oil, tar, chocolate ginger biscuits and fresh-cut grass, with fennel, peppermint and eucalyptus after water. The palate is lightly oily, with minty sweetness, creosote, charcoal ash, grilled pineapple and dark chocolate. The finish is long, with coffee grounds, liquorice, wood smoke and menthol.
