Wee Beastie is a 5 year old Islay single malt from Ardbeg and a permanent addition to the distillery's core range. It is bottled at 47.4% in a 70cl bottle.
It was made to be the rawest, smokiest Ardbeg yet. The whisky matured in ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, and its short time in wood keeps it sharper than a longer maturation would, which would have rounded the flavour.
The nose offers black pepper, pine resin and peat smoke. On the palate there is peat smoke again, with chocolate, creosote and tar.
