Ardmore Legacy is a lightly peated Highland single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 40% ABV. The malt is 80% peated and 20% unpeated, and the whisky matures in ex-bourbon barrels and quarter casks.
The peat is light and heather-based, gentler and more floral than the coastal peat of Islay. The nose brings light barbecue char and earthy peat with cinnamon, honey and vanilla toffee. On the palate, charred oak and gentle smoke come with pear drops, citrus zest and heather. The finish is lingering, with soft peat smoke, honeyed barley and a little pepper.
