Bholsa is the second core release from Ardnahoe, the Islay distillery founded in 2018 by the Laing family, owners of Hunter Laing & Co. It follows the Inaugural Release of 2024 and takes its name from the Bholsa caves on the island's north coast. The whisky is matured mainly in Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 50% without added colour or chill-filtration. The nose brings red berries, walnuts and orange peel over a hint of peat smoke. On the palate come raisins, dates and ripe plums alongside classic Islay peat, leading to a long, peppery finish.
