Ardnamurchan AD 02.22 is the distillery's first cask strength release. It is a vatting of 84% peated and 16% unpeated whisky, matured 90% in bourbon casks and 10% in sherry casks. It is bottled at 58.7%, without chill-filtration or added colour.
The nose brings pear and almond tart, sea salt, wet hessian and peppermint tea. On the palate there is fresh ginger, tobacco leaf, integrated peat and orange blossom, with salted caramel and a good texture. The finish runs medium to long, clean and lightly smoky.
