Ardnamurchan AD/ Sherry Cask Release is a single malt from the west Highlands, matured in ex-sherry casks from the start. The casks are Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez. It is bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The release sets Ardnamurchan's coastal, lightly smoky character against the depth the sherry wood brings.
The nose offers raisins, dried figs, dates and dark caramel, with bitter cocoa, nuts, orange peel and soft maritime smoke. The palate has ripe black fruit, dark chocolate, sweet spice, toffee and toasted wood. The finish is long and warm, with dry sherry, spice, cocoa and a salty echo.
