Armagnac 1974 from Rounagle, distilled in column stills and matured in French oak barrels.
After distillation, the spirit rests for decades in French oak, developing complexity from the wood tannins. The nose shows candied fruit, dried plums and a subtle touch of vanilla and sweet spice. On the palate it is elegant and enveloping, with a balance between the sweetness of ripe fruit and a light astringency.
It is best served at around 20 degrees as a digestif or for quiet reflection. Each bottle is presented in a wooden box.
