Arran – 10 Year Old Arran Barley Batch No. 002 Limited Edition (50%)

This is a ten-year-old single malt from the Isle of Arran, made with barley grown on the island. It comes from the Arran distillery at Lochranza and is a limited edition bottled at 50% ABV. The barley was grown near the Lagg Distillery in the south of Arran, in cooperation with the Currie family of Bellevue Farm. Batch No. 002 uses the Concerto variety. The whisky matured in first-fill bourbon barrels and second-fill sherry hogsheads. The nose is fresh herbs, zesty citrus, sweet vanilla and a little aniseed. The palate is oily, with malt, gingerbread, ripe apricots and sweet dates, and the finish is long and warm with sweet spices.
