Arran – 15 Year Old PX Sherry The Whisky Chamber (50cl, 54.6%)

This is a 15 year old single cask Arran, bottled by The Whisky Chamber at 54.6% in a 50cl bottle. It was distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2015, and 108 bottles were produced. The whisky matured in a refill Pedro Ximenez sherry octave, a cask that holds about 50 litres, an eighth of a standard cask. The small volume meant the whisky took on more from the wood. The nose is fruity, with candied pineapple and a restrained sherry note. The palate shows noticeably more sherry, with a little smoke and fine oak. The finish is long and complex.
