Arran 25 Year Old is a single malt from Lochranza on the Isle of Arran, made from stock distilled in 1995, the year the distillery was founded. This first edition was released in 2020 in a run of 3,000 bottles worldwide, and is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring.
It first matured in ex-bourbon casks (65%) and ex-sherry casks (35%), then spent its last twelve months in first-fill and refill sherry hogsheads.
The nose has strong oak and nutmeg with baked figs, sultanas and black cherries. On the palate come fruit cake, almonds, cinnamon, orange, mandarin, manuka honey and apricots. The finish is creamy and spicy, with dark chocolate, walnuts and dark fruit compote.
