Arran – 9 Year Old Signature Series Edition 4 Sherry Serenade (50%)

This is a nine-year-old single malt from the Isle of Arran, the fourth edition in the Signature Series. It is bottled at 50% ABV. Distillery manager Stewart Bowman chose the cask combination: Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez and Amontillado sherry casks. Oloroso adds nutty spice, Pedro Ximénez brings sweetness and dark fruit, and Amontillado contributes drier, finer spice. The nose offers orange peel, dark toffee and soft cocoa over a malty background. On the palate come rich caramel, creamy toffee and lively citrus. The finish is long, with malt, toffee sweetness, cocoa and orange.
