Arran Barrel Reserve is an unpeated single malt from the Lochranza distillery in the north of the Isle of Arran, bottled at 43% ABV. It matured in American white oak, using first-fill ex-bourbon barrels.
The oak brings vanilla sweetness and light fruit, along with restrained wood notes.
On the nose there are green apples, juicy pears and zesty citrus with vanilla, green grass and a light sea breeze. The palate is soft and creamy, with fresh orange, vanilla fudge and a hint of cinnamon.
