Arran – Barrel Reserve (70cl, 43%)

Arran Barrel Reserve is a single malt from the Lochranza distillery on the Isle of Arran, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle without an age statement. It matures only in bourbon barrels, which keeps the distillery's light, fruity style to the fore. Crisp orchard fruit, citrus peel and vanilla are accompanied by gentle oak. It is chill-filtered and takes its colour from the wood alone, with no colouring added. The nose shows lemon and other citrus fruit alongside green apple. The palate brings vanilla sweetness with light cinnamon. The finish is subtle and lasting, with a touch of sweet oak.
