Arran – Quarter Cask The Bothy (56.2%)

Arran The Bothy Quarter Cask is a single malt bottled at 56.2%. It is a tribute to the small quarter casks that played an important part in the whisky trade in the 18th and 19th centuries. It was matured in first fill ex-bourbon casks, then finished in smaller quarter casks, also ex-bourbon and made of American white oak. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The nose offers sandalwood, malted barley, spicy oak, beeswax, lemon, brown sugar, cocoa and coconut. The palate is powerful and richly sweet, with vanilla ice cream, sweet apples, pineapple and toasted butter pastry. The finish is long, with citrus fruit and warming oak.
