Arran – Signature Series Edition 1 Remnant Renegade (46%)

The first release in the four-part Signature Series from Arran, Remnant Renegade is a single malt bottled at 46% ABV. It was selected by Stewart Bowman, the distillery manager, and 14,863 bottles were filled. It is a blend of remnant ex-sherry hogsheads, ex-sherry butts and ex-bourbon barrels from across the Arran range, with whisky distilled from the early years of the distillery up to 2017. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The nose brings caramel apple, vanilla and cinnamon with clear orange blossom and star anise. The palate is silky and balanced, with light liquorice, menthol herbs and honey. The finish is long and soft, with floral notes.
