Arran The Bothy is a single malt from the Isle of Arran, bottled at a natural cask strength of 56.2% in a 70cl bottle. It matures first in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and then in 125-litre quarter casks of American oak, where the smaller size gives the wood a stronger influence.
The whisky is non-chill-filtered, and its colour comes only from the cask.
The nose combines lemon peel and candyfloss with a hint of cocoa. On the palate pineapple and green apple meet vanilla, with a light touch of chilli. The finish keeps fruity impressions and aromatic spice.
