Auchentoshan 12 Year Old is a Lowland single malt bottled at 40%. It is triple distilled, and is described as the last Lowland single malt still made that way.
The nose brings crème brûlée and a burst of citrus, with caramel, rosewater, milk chocolate, icing sugar and hay, plus a hint of sherry. On the palate it is smooth and sweet, with mandarin and lime, the nuttiness typical of Auchentoshan, continuing sherry, and fresh grape and apple. A fruity, spicy interlude leads into a long, slightly dry finish with notes of ginger.
