This is a 21-year-old Lowland single malt from Auchentoshan, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV. It is a limited release.
The whisky matured in American bourbon casks and Spanish sherry casks. Auchentoshan uses triple distillation, which is unusual among Scotch whiskies.
The nose offers assorted fruit, delicate vanilla and a light touch of pepper. On the palate it is ripe, with gooseberries, sweet creamy vanilla, a little oak and warm honey. The finish carries the soft, delicate character of the distillery.
