This is a 38-year-old single malt from Auchentoshan in the Lowlands, bottled by Milroys for its Vintage Reserve Series. It was distilled in 1987 and bottled in 2026 at 50.7% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky is triple distilled from malted barley and matured in a single sherry hogshead, number 6, which gave 297 bottles. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
The nose brings English lemon curd, dried flowers, honeycomb and a little sherry spice. On the palate, dried fruit and ripe citrus sit on a honey sweetness with some vanilla and mild oak spice. The finish is long, moving from honey to dry oak and fine spices.
