Auchentoshan Three Wood is a single malt matured in three types of cask. The whisky spends close to 10 years in bourbon casks and a further 2 years in Oloroso sherry casks, then finishes for 6 months in PX sherry casks. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
It is a dark amber whisky. The nose is sweet, with dried fruit and dark chocolate. The palate is mild, with sweet caramel, roasted hazelnuts, cinnamon and sherry notes, and the finish is long and sweet.
