Auchroisk – 10 Year Old

Auchroisk 10 Year Old is a single malt from the Auchroisk distillery in Scotland, built in 1973 on the old road from Craigelachie to Keith. The name is usually translated as the ford on the red river. Water for the distillery was tested for a full week before building began. Until 2000 the whisky was sold as The Singleton of Auchroisk. It was then replaced by this 10 year old bottling in the Flora and Fauna series. The nose is aromatic, lemony and malty, with a hint of smoke. The palate is full and firm, with a slightly sweet character. The finish leaves a biscuity dryness.
