This is a 14 year old single cask Auchroisk, distilled in 2006 and bottled in 2021 by North Star Spirits at 56.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The outturn was 264 bottles.
The whisky spent its time in a refill hogshead before finishing in an ex-Oloroso cask. Auchroisk was built in the early 1970s and most of its spirit goes into blends, so single cask bottlings are uncommon.
The nose is gently floral, with treacle toffee and mixed nuts. The palate is soft and sweet with floral citrus notes, turning herbaceous and grassy, and the finish brings sweet cereal, lemon peel and hints of liquorice.
