Auchroisk – 10 Years Flora & Fauna (70cl, 43%)

This is a 10 year old Auchroisk single malt from the Flora & Fauna range, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. Diageo created the range to show the whiskies of its lesser-known distilleries. Auchroisk is a Speyside distillery, counted among the larger ones in Scotland, and most of its output goes into high-quality blends. Official bottlings are almost unknown, which is why many enthusiasts treat this one as the original. The nose is light and fresh, with vanilla, citrus fruit and a gentle malty sweetness. On the palate it is soft, with grain, berries and a touch of herbs. The finish is medium in length, pleasantly dry, with warm, sweet echoes.
