This is a 20 year old Auchroisk single malt from Speyside, distilled in 1995 and bottled by Hart Brothers in its Finest Collection Cask Strength series. It matured in American oak and is non-chill-filtered, with no added colouring.
The nose combines fresh fruit, muesli and chocolate; with water, fruit, home-baked cake and mint remain. The palate is dry and tannic, with noticeable alcohol, spice, fruit and chocolate. Water makes it creamier, with plenty of liquorice. The finish is medium in length and spicy, and with water ends on a chewy liquorice note.
