Auchroisk – 2009 13 Year Old Gordon & MacPhail Wood Finished Connoisseurs Choice

This Auchroisk was distilled in 2009 and bottled at 13 years old in November 2022 for Gordon & MacPhail's Wood Finished Connoisseurs Choice series. It matured in a refill bourbon barrel, then spent two years in a Côte Rôtie red wine cask. A total of 2,060 bottles were filled. The nose opens with rich vanilla fudge, moving gradually to redcurrants and strawberry liquorice. On the palate there are sweet summer fruits with clementines and a touch of cinnamon. The finish is of medium length, with a delicate edge of fresh peppermint.
