Auchroisk – 2010/2025 14 Year Old Oloroso Hogshead Chorlton (70cl, 58.4%)

This is a 14-year-old Auchroisk from a single oloroso hogshead, distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2025 by Chorlton Whisky. It is bottled at a natural 58.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle, from an outturn of 255 bottles. The sherry cask gives an old-school style of whisky, matched to the weighty character of Auchroisk's malt. The nose is rum and raisins with melted milk chocolate, peanut brittle and warm spice. On the palate come sultanas, cocoa, caramelised nuts and a little treacle, balanced by sherry spice. The finish is long, rich and warming, with dried fruit, cocoa and toasted oak.
