This is a 25 year old Auchroisk single malt, distilled in 1990 and part of the 2016 Special Release series. It was bottled at a cask strength of 51.2%.
The whisky was matured in a mix of American and European oak casks. A total of 3,954 bottles were filled, each individually numbered.
The nose is fresh and juicy, with peaches, oranges, almond oil, leather and a little smoke. The palate starts sweet and creamy before fruit cake with apricots, and dark chocolate with menthol and orange. The finish pairs dark chocolate with blackcurrant and orange peel in an aniseed warmth.
