Aultmore 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt aged for 12 years in a combination of bourbon and refill hogsheads. It is made from unpeated malt and soft Speyside water, and bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle without chill filtration.
The distillery was founded in 1897 on the edge of Keith, drawing water from the Foggie Moss, and its slow distillation gives a light, floral spirit.
The nose is wildflowers, pear drops, cut grass and a little honey. The palate brings green apple, creamy vanilla, barley sugar, mint and heather, and the finish is crisp and dry with a mineral note and a trace of sweet cereal.
