This is a 16 year old single malt from Aultmore, distilled in 1990 and bottled by Douglas Laing at 50% ABV. It is dark gold in colour.
The nose is very grassy, with the inside of an emptied wine barrel, praline, candy sugar, hints of ham and game, white wine and green tea.
The palate is smooth and fruity, moving from sultanas and dates to kumquats and Seville oranges, with apricot pie, a little balsamic, pepper-flavoured chocolate and plum jam. The finish is rather long and candied, leaving strong honey and chestnut notes.
