This is Aultmore 13 Year Old, a Speyside single malt bottled by Duncan Taylor for its Octave range, in a 70cl bottle at a cask strength of 52.5% ABV. It spent over a decade in oak before a finishing period in an octave cask, and it is not chill-filtered.
The nose has orchard fruit, wildflowers and soft honey, with vanilla and light spice. On the palate are pear, apple crumble and creamy malt, with subtle oak tannins and warming spice. The finish is long, with lingering fruit sweetness and a touch of toasted almond.
