This is an 18-year-old Highland single malt from Balblair, in a 750ml bottle. It was matured first in American oak ex-bourbon casks, then in first-fill Spanish oak butts.
It is described as rich and autumnal, and it keeps the bright, fruity character of the distillery. The colour is oiled cedar.
The nose has rich toffee and baked pears against a backdrop of new leather. On the palate are juicy apricots, seasoned oak and vanilla custard. The finish is long and warming, with fresh spices and raisins.
