Balblair – 18 Year Old

Balblair 18 Year Old is a Northern Highland single malt from the Balblair distillery, founded in 1790 near Edderton in Ross-shire. It spends 18 years maturing mainly in American oak, with ex-bourbon casks used for the primary maturation. Balblair moved from vintage-dated to age-stated releases in 2019, and this is one of the age-stated bottlings. The long maturation is described as bringing deep vanilla, dried fruit and a creamy, velvety texture, alongside the tropical fruit and smooth coastal character associated with the distillery.
