Balblair 12 Year Old is a single malt from the Balblair distillery in Edderton, Ross-shire, founded in 1790. It matured for 12 years in American oak ex-bourbon casks and is bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration.
Balblair moved from vintage-dated releases to age-stated bottlings in 2019, and this 12 year old is the entry point to the current range. The distillery draws on a sheltered microclimate in the Edderton valley and water from the Allt Dearg burn.
It is known for tropical fruit and a smooth, coastal character.
